Tacia Wheelock, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Tacia Despo Wheelock, DVM is originally from Jamestown, PA. When she was 15, she started volunteering at Greenville Veterinary Clinic and through the amazing mentorship and support, Dr Tacia decided to make veterinary medicine her career. She’s a 2000 graduate of Jamestown Area Jr Sr High School, graduated from Westminster College Cum Laude and with Honors in 2004 and The Ohio State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008.
Continuing a family tradition of military service, Dr. Tacia, commissioned as a Captain in the US Army Veterinary Corps. Her duty stations included Norfolk Naval Base (Virginia), Kitsap Naval Base (Washington), Incirlik Air Base (Turkey), and Naval Support Station Bahrain. After proudly serving for 6 years, Dr Tacia honorably separated from the Army to settle down in Southern Maryland. She practiced in the Washington D.C metro area for 7 years before deciding to move back to western Pennsylvania to be closer to family and friends.
Dr. Tacia takes great pleasure in being part of her patients' and clients' lives. From the first puppy/kitten visit to the senior years, it’s very rewarding to see the bond between pet and owner. She has a special interest in yearly wellness visits and dermatology.
In her free time she enjoys traveling, gardening, reading, and spending time with her husband, Tom, her sons Nick and Fred, and their flame point Siamese named Killian.
